This is the beginning of one of my favorite Latin proverbs, "fortiter in re, suaviter in modo"--strong in substance, while smooth in execution. These are qualities helpful when looking at the nexus of religion and social policy, the main topics about which I will write. In Summer 2007, I will be writing from London as I do policy work for the British adoption and foster care system.

- I am a graduate student in social policy at the University of Chicago. I am spending the summer of 2007 working for the British Association for Adoption and Fostering, and I am beginning the adoption process myself. I will be ordained an Episcopal priest in 2009 (God willing!).
